Porcelain Tile: From Concept to Creation

Before a piece of Italian porcelain tile, makes it into a showroom floor, it begins in 
the surrounding hills of Modena, Italy.

highest technological oven, where the heat transforms it. The special combination of 
ingredients and heat alchemizes these base materials into a vitrified final product capable 
of withstanding extreme temperatures, acids and chemicals, and turns it into a frostresistant tile with low porosity. It why porcelain tile is equally at home on a sun-drenched
California patio or outside in the elements after a snowfall.
But the technology is only one part of the story. Beyond the precise calculations and 
process, there is a beautiful story mixed with artistry, design, and craftsmanship. Design 
teams are able to recreate any look from natural stone to wood grains or metal patinas.
